BIOGRAPHY

Dr. Arvind Kumar Sharma is presently working as a faculty member in the Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering, KIET Group of Institutions, Ghaziabad, UP (India) and looking after the department as the additional head.

He earned his Ph.D. from FET, Jamia Millia Islamia, New Delhi (India) in 2017.

He has a total of 34 years of working experience which includes 14 years of teaching and 20 years of maintenance and indigenous development of aviation spares.

He has published more than 15 research papers in international and national journals and conference proceedings after joining the academics.

He is providing consultancy to industries towards product development and has conducted/organized many training programs for faculty and staff members.

He has been instrumental to establish IEEE, SIGHT, KIET Group of Institutions, Ghaziabad as a founder member.

He has organized 02 DLP under IEEE, SIGHT, KIET Group of Institutions.

He is a member of the organizing committee of a series of International Conference on Innovative Applications of Computational Intelligence on Power, Energy and Controls with their Impact on Humanity (CIPECH).

All the conferences of the series, conducted till date, were technically sponsored by IEEE, UP section.

His department organizes the said conference every alternate year.

He had been General Co-Chair of CIPECH-18, Program Chair of CIPECH-16 and conference secretary of CIPECH-14.

His present research interest is concentrated towards wind and solar-based renewable energy systems, distributed generation, and fault ride-through of the distributed generation systems.

EDUCATION

Ph.D. from Faculty of Engineering and Technology, Jamia Millia Islamia, New Delhi for the work on topic "Transient Fault Analysis of an Intelligent Distributed Generation System".

RESEARCH INTEREST

Renewable Energy, Distributed Generation, Solar, and Wind Energy Conversion System, Fault Ride Through.

HONORS AND AWARDS

Project “Machuara” received a grant of Rs 6.25 Lakhs from MSME.

Project “Reciprocating type wind energy conversion system” selected in the top 10 projects in category (Energy) for presenting in Hackathon 2016, Make in India during Feb 2016.

Project “Vayurja” developed by team GreanASHA won the first prize of Rs 1 Lakh in “Innovation in Manufacturing Practices (IMP)” conducted by Techkriti, IIT Kanpur during 3-6 March 2016.

The member interview panel for the post of Executive (Electrical) in Central PSE, CRWC on 17 March 2014.

Head Examiner, Electrical Engineering, Odd Semester Exam, (academic Session 2012-13), Mahamaya Technical University, Lucknow.

Received Excellence Award for outstanding results during academic session 2008-09 at KIET, Ghaziabad.

Research work appreciated by the International Migration Institute (IMI) at the University of Oxford.
